Stockton and Electronic Mail
So Stockton was okay. I woke up late, met up with Mom at Samuel's birthday party, and she cried a bit. From what she's willing to tell me, she's upset at the absurdity of our society. She's basically flipping out like I would if I was less stable. For example, she was pointing out how pointless it is to have buffets when people out on the street are starving, or how we keep ourselves amused with contrivences such as birthday parties. I guess I get all my idealism and shit from somewhere.
She also feels like it's a neverending uphill struggle to try and do the right thing. I tried to tell her how much good she was doing at work fighting greedy insurance companies to provide low-income people with medical services, but she felt like it shouldn't have to be that way.
And it shouldn't. But that's the reason why it's so important for people like her to keep fighting. Because we can't let the "bad guys" win. It's why I want to become a teacher, and hopefully provide an alternative to the propoganda spoon-fed to our children from day 1.
Afterwards, I got to see Dad and Mick for a while at the service, but then I had to rush out and head back to Berk to meet with CT.
Also, I feel like I'm the type of guy to have everything go weird with one email. Stupid lovelife of mine. Is everyone's this complex?
